How We Recruit

We wish that we could invite everyone who expresses interest in a role at Blossom LGBT CIC to come and work with us, but sadly generating income as a not for profit is really tough. For this reason when we do have roles available we’ll list them below.

We score your application and interview against four different sets of criteria which helps us to ensure that we get the best talent without failing to recognise the considerable employment gaps within marginalised communities.

  • Potential to Thrive: Sure experience is great… but most roles can be learnt. It takes a special kind of person to thrive in a grassroots setting and in pretty unusual roles.
  • Filling Our Knowledge Gaps: As an organisation we need to ensure our team consists of people with skill sets, personality types, and experiences that allow us to thrive. Sometimes this means we look for skills in candidates that might not be directly linked to the role.
  • Being an LGBTQ+ Hero: We need true community champions, be that allies or LGBTQ+ people, that’s why we’re interested to hear about what work you’ve done within the LGBTQ+ community to make a change.
  • A Track Record of Success: We want to be a winning team, and to do that it takes people who are the best in what they do. We want you to have a demonstrable history of being successful even if that’s outside of a 9-5 job or educational settings… We just want to know you can do whatever you put your mind to.
We’re conscious of creating a true intersectional environment and believe that diversity is a key tool in creating a workplace that truly thrives. We’d actively like to hear from people who would consider themselves to be from marginalised backgrounds. We’re particularly interested in hearing from LGBTQ+ people who are considered to have multiple marginalisations particularly LGBTQ+ people of colour and LGBTQ+ people with access needs.
