Position: Session Facilitator

Responsible to: Social Group Manager

Responsible for: Our Members
Commitment Level: Tuesdays from 6.30 pm until 9 pm
Location: Woking Town Center

Session Facilitator Role Description:

At Blossom LGBT CIC, our vision is to ensure the safe spaces we provide for young adults are free from judgment and discrimination to allow everyone to be their authentic selves; our Session Facilitators are an integral part of this. Due to the nature of our groups, it can be difficult to give pinpoint exactly what you will be doing every session. Session Facilitators will head the activities we host, which change weekly to fit the needs and interests of our members, which may be cooking one week, painting the next or even just having a cuppa and a chat. Before each session we will discuss the activities and discuss what works for you, our goal is to ensure that our facilitators are comfortable and know what they’re doing. We are proud to be flexible with all of our volunteer roles, we think it’s important to play to your strengths whilst also providing the opportunity to professionally develop when you are comfortable, let’s chat about your skills and see how we can tailor this role to you.

  • Volunteers are required to undergo an enhanced DBS check
  • Volunteers will be given a full induction and the opportunity to further their training in the future

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Playing a crucial part in raising safeguarding concerns and signposting when required
  • Looking after the safety of our sessions & members
  • Help to prepare the venues for our sessions
  • Leading occasional activities
  • Keeping venues clean
  • General Support throughout the session
